seasons

good morning, it is spring
how quietly it awakens
the fresh scents, the soft hues
as new life stretches upwards to greet the morning sun

good afternoon, it is summer
the radiant warmth and brilliance of the sun
the refreshing chill of the deep, blue sea
and abundance of delectable, vine-ripened gifts

good evening, it is fall
trees are soaked with vivid color – rainbows – painted across the landscape
with broad brush strokes against a crisp, sky blue

good night, it is winter
the cold white snow blankets the earth as far as the eye can see
yet winter berries and wildlife abound
and a beautiful sunset beckons me to find warmth in slumber and in dreams.
