Courage

Whatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising that tempt you to believe your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires some of the same courage that a soldier needs. Peace has its victories, but it takes brave men and women to win them. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

In remembrance

In remembrance of those fallen, disabled, and with wounded hearts and minds.
And remembering all that serve and served for the pursuit of freedom, with the hope that peace and love will rule our lives, that peace and love will truly become the given way of humanity’s future.
~ Thomas Hillman (U.S. Army Vietnam-era Veteran 1971-74)

We are here to make a better world.

We are here to make a better world. The lesson of the 1960s is that people who cared enough to do right could change history. We didn't end racism, but ended legal segregation. We ended the idea that women are second-class citizens. We made the environment an issue not to be avoided. We were young, self-righteous, reckless, hypocritical, brave, silly, headstrong, scared half to death, and we were right. ~ Abbie Hoffman

after all

I saw a cloud that looked like a dolphin
I heard a dolphin that sounded like an old man laughing
the old man’s laugh felt as radiant as the sun shining
the sunshine warmed my heart
until the clouds returned, dark as a raven
it reminded me that a heart can ache so
yet after the broken heart
rain and raven clouds retreat
and I see a rainbow
and the rainbow is like nothing else on earth
yet the earth is like a pebble
tossed upon a great ocean called universe
and the universe is infinite
and infinity is no more or less miraculous than a single living cell
which is no more or less miraculous than the atoms that comprise it
and no more or less miraculous than the empty space between it,
that is indeed by no means empty,
but a force of harmony after all.

Let me be...

Let me be loved, let me be happy, let me be peaceful. Let my friends be happy, loved, and peaceful. Let my perceived enemies be happy, loved and peaceful. Let all beings be happy, loved and peaceful. Let the whole world experience these things. ~ The Chopra Foundation

Too many blessings, too little appreciation, the breath of life is a gift— inhale thankfulness, exhale love.

In the now.

It's being here now that's important. There's no past and there's no future. Time is a very misleading thing. All there is ever, is the now. We can gain experience from the past, but we can't relive it; and we can hope for the future, but we don't know if there is one. ~ George Harrison

May peace and love be with you.

It's easy to say may peace and love be with you. But to strive to live by the words through our actual efforts and actions is what will make the words live for real, and for the betterment of humanity.

Each day is a many splendored thing.
